DIY Wedding Cake Techniques

In my continous quest to helping brides to save money, I decided to find easy yet classy looking frosting techniques for those who have opted to make their own cake or considering it. These techniques look so simple even a bridezilla can do it:) Kidding about the bridezilla part:) After getting quotes from many caterers or bakers, you will find that making your own cake would be cheaper. This would be a big savings in your budget. To save on your wedding cake and save yourself a headache, have a couple practice rounds with someone who you would trust to make your cake. I know this is nerve recking but with the techniques I have found, you won't need Ace of Cakes to make your cake...even though that would be nice:) Let me know what's your favorite technique.

Wow...does this not look fake? Well, it isn't. This cake is perfect using an upside down technique. Make sure you have a couple practice rounds before making your final product. I'm still amazed at the perfection..good thing i'm not showing you the tutorial...I would mess this up for sure.

DIY Vintage Gothic Wedding Theme

Sorry, its been a while. Today I was inspired to post this Vintage Gothic Wedding Theme. First, I wanted to post this because I couldn't believe that a gothic wedding theme could look so classy. Second, because I was amazed at how this theme came together with lots of DIY projects. If you look closely at the details of this theme, you will find that pages from some books,  as well as some lace and ribbons, gave this theme a vintage look.

Once again, Hostess with the Mostess, has inspired me with their awesome themes. Can't have enough. So for those on a budget who think classy and elegant only fits a wealthy person's pocket...think again. With just a couple of ripped pages from an old book and some inexpensive lace, your wedding can be just as expensive looking. Remember get the look you want on a budget you can afford.

Still in the mode of posting on vintage inspired weddings. I'll get over it eventually, but the more I search the more I fall in love with this theme. So for those who are on the same page with me and are interested in a Vintage Inspired wedding, you will love what I have came across today.  When I mention the word vintage you perhaps think expensive, I don't blame you because I felt the same way.  I definitely felt this way when a saw these beautiful vintage cupcake stands from etsy.  But if you are like most brides on a budget, you will find that this perhaps will not fit your budget.  Don't dismay, luckily there are many DIY vintage cupcake stand tutorials for the budget conscious bride.  You can get as creative as you want with your choice of plates. All White Winter Wonderland: All White Wedding Cakes and Cupcakes

Must confess something...I am obsessed with Sweets. Not only did I already post some All White Wedding cakes but I had to continue an additional post because I'm just obsessed.  I mean look at these, I just couldn't end my last post without posting these good looking, elegant, classy, bling shining, edible diamonds, oh so tempting All White wedding cakes:) Don't you agree?
