DIY Vintage Gothic Wedding Theme

Sorry, its been a while. Today I was inspired to post this Vintage Gothic Wedding Theme. First, I wanted to post this because I couldn't believe that a gothic wedding theme could look so classy. Second, because I was amazed at how this theme came together with lots of DIY projects. If you look closely at the details of this theme, you will find that pages from some books,  as well as some lace and ribbons, gave this theme a vintage look.

Once again, Hostess with the Mostess, has inspired me with their awesome themes. Can't have enough. So for those on a budget who think classy and elegant only fits a wealthy person's pocket...think again. With just a couple of ripped pages from an old book and some inexpensive lace, your wedding can be just as expensive looking. Remember get the look you want on a budget you can afford.

Amazing how a couple of book pages make a simple white cake look so classy. Great way to save money.

I love the little details, like wrapping chocolate bars with old book pages and topping them off with a little button. So clever.

I came across a couple photo shoots that brought to life the illustrations of the book Hunger Games. The similiar themes I see are: Vintage, Organic, Rustic, Nature Inspired, along with a pop of color. Its amazing to see how many ways people can interpret this wedding theme. So enjoy the Hunger Games Wedding Theme. Let me know your thoughts. Also, check out the Twilight Wedding Theme for similar inspiration.

Look for Less: Vintage Cupcake Stand

Still in the mode of posting on vintage inspired weddings. I'll get over it eventually, but the more I search the more I fall in love with this theme. So for those who are on the same page with me and are interested in a Vintage Inspired wedding, you will love what I have came across today.  When I mention the word vintage you perhaps think expensive, I don't blame you because I felt the same way.  I definitely felt this way when a saw these beautiful vintage cupcake stands from etsy.  But if you are like most brides on a budget, you will find that this perhaps will not fit your budget.  Don't dismay, luckily there are many DIY vintage cupcake stand tutorials for the budget conscious bride.  You can get as creative as you want with your choice of plates. Visit your local Goodwill, farmer's market, or a flea market to find your vintage plates at an affordable price. Or Shop for your Plates.

Vintage Wedding Look: Sweets Table

This has to be by far my best pick for the use of Doilies. Though I am in love with the backdrop that incorporates cardstock and doily pinwheels, I am memorized by that sweets table. Combine the DIY Cupcake Wrappers, with DIY Doily and Paper Embellishments, with the DIY Doily Stars, to create a vintage inspired candy table for your guests to enjoy. If I had this at my wedding I would not let anyone touch it...okay I'm exaggerating. But really, Hostess with the Mostess has done it again. I am hooked on this website, so much I try to stay away from it for my own good:)

End It With a Touch of Sweetness.

Saw that Amazon carries the same Set of Three White Iron and Glass Cake Stands, as in the picture above. Must admit they are a bit pricey but they are too cute and classy, just thought I'd pass it on.

Where to Buy?
Here are some things I have chosen to get you started on your Vintage Sweets Table.  Due to the high price on some of the items in the Vintage Wedding Look, I have chose some things that can be used as an alternative. Of course, this is just a start. What makes this really come together is how you personalize it.  There are many DIY inspirations in the pictures above to get your mind going.

Also try your local Goodwill, flea markets and second hand stores to find vintage treasures. You can perhaps find some antique books, luggages, jewelry cases, dressers to display your dessert table, vintage plates, etc. to give your wedding a real Vintage Look.  It will be like a scavenger hunt...you never know what you'll find.
